This blend captures the finest green Sencha tea and the signature addition of roasted brown rice (genmai).
Often fondly referred to as “popcorn tea” due to the appearance of the puffed rice, this delicious palate cleansing blend offers a mild aromatic tang with a distinctive nutty toasty flavour and aroma; bringing depth to the sweet astringency of the Sencha.
Generally brewed with hotter water than other Japanese teas, leave the boiled water for a minute and then start to brew.
The versatility of Sencha Genmai Cha is demonstrated in the different tastes it imparts. Brew for one minute and a nutty toasted popcorn flavour will predominate, whilst a longer brew reveals the secrets of the Sencha.
