Nilgiri (BOP). The Nilgiri district of Tamil Nadu in the South of India was found to be particularly suitable for tea production when it was introduced there by the British in 1840, producing a tea reminiscent of Assam in both appearance and flavours.
The black leaf gives rise to a rich amber infusion with a sweet malty well balanced flavour with intense aromatic notes to construct a particularly well rounded cuppa.
It can be enjoyed with or without milk, and as it does not cloud it makes a good base for lemon or mint iced tea.
Best Brewed for 3-5 minutes.
